Museum signed a star studded chef to put his... read more Found this through Michelin, but: a tourist trap. Everything that can go wrong in a museum restaurant, goes wrong. Museum signed a star studded chef to put his name on the menu rather then let him run the kitchen. His signature dish, steak tartare with a fresh oyster, is not available because no oyster on a Saturday evening. The menu is utterly boring, think zucchini soup and tomato salad with mozzarella and basil. Or an €18 omelette with apparently some truffle pfff. Skipped the starters and took a main course: beef butcher cut. Butcher was probably happy to get rid of these cuts. Supermarket quality. Frites were of the poorest quality with bits an pieces; straight from the wholesaler. No vegetables were included in this €29 dish. Advice for any museum: either you assign a star studded chef to run your kitchen with all the stars an prizes included. Or give a young and upcoming chef a chance to serve a thrilling menu with fresh ingredients and excellent skills. Just like a museum: visitors want to be surprised.
