Tonkatsu Taro - Niigata

Looks simple, but these thinly cut tone kotsu are very delicious! Here you will not get a fancy, wow-type of meal, but some warm, comforting home cooking style of food! It is worth coming back to Niigata in my next visit.

If you are to Niigata’s famous “Tare Katsu”, then this is absolutely the place to come. The pork fillets are absolutely delicious, but slightly crispy, although they are coated with delicious sauce. The koshihikari (Niigatas famous rice) also complements the meal so well that you want to finish every single grain!! Portions are enormously generous, the pork fillets almost completely cover the rice when served. Service is also very efficient and staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely go back to Niigata city!

Don Katsu densho is very tender and yummy. Katsu don is of great flavour. Highly recommended.
