Inakaya - Niigata

This restaurant is a must visit place when you come to Niigata city!! Location is center of Motomachi area. Its speciality: Wappa Meshi is a Japanese cooking style with ingredients that are damped in a special bamboo dish. Many cities in Japan have their own style of Wappa Meshi. Niigata offers it with fresh seafood! The restaurant has managed to preserve the traditional Japanese style.

Peak of the Niigata. Very good value for money steamed seafood rice. Beautiful variety and very fresh. The rice with seafood evaporates both seafood and the famous Niigata rice. Please also try her deep friend and barbecue dishes, as they were all good.

The staff, mostly older, was very friendly and welcoming. The food was some of the best food I ever had in Japan. The rice of this prefecture is considered a delicacies throughtout Japan, so if you get the chance to get into the restaurant during the harvest season (autumn) You really enjoy taste autumn reaction exactly taken You never return.

Historical restaurant of the inventors of wappa meshi (damped rice dish in bamboo bowl). My oyster was great!

Amazing traditional Japanese food and more importantly the staff members were all kind and attentive.
