Only one person spoke a little English, but only VERY little. We ordered a la cart. Were asked if we wanted the all you can eat special by 2 different employees who came to the table. We told them each time no, we did not want all you can eat. We also attempted to take things off our a la cart menu when we ordered 2 of something by mistake. There was not enough communication because the idea is to order from the device and then it comes to the table via an employee. We attempted to pay our bill/check, which we were never allowed to view and agree upon the charges. We do not agree on the charges. We tried 3 credit cards, but there machine was not taking any of them. We attempted to pay the only euros we had and then come back with more. They would not accept that, instead held us hostage when we go into the elevator and would not allow us to leave, they locked us in. The restaurant would only allow one of us to leave, holding the other hostage until the other returned. We got on the elevator to leave to go to ATM but the employee stood in our way. This was our first time in this town, and we were not comfortable going alone, in the dark, in the rain, with no map or way to get to an ATM, even though the employee said it was very close. (It was tough enough with the 2 police officers. We would not agree to be held hostage any longer so we agreed the police should be called. We tried to explain that we at no point agreed to pay for all you can eat and we specifically ordered each item separately. One of us went with the police on an adventure to 3 ATM before one would work to get the money. We should have never done that. We never agreed to pay for all you can eat and we ordered and ate very little. I had a small fish fillet and a limoncello cocktail. My daughter had edamame, 2 small sushi plates and a warm saki. OH, we also tried the desert samples, which we never asked for but kept being told to go see the desert bar. Very angry we were held hostage until we paid for items we did not want or receive. Never should have done that and never will again. The 2 men who held us hostage were not nice at all once they were not able to process our payment. No fault of ours that they could not figure out what was happening with the credit card machine. Our 40 euros would have been enough to cover what we ordered, we never should have been tricked into paying for something we did not agree to pay, and we obviously did not eat all you can eat ....what a rude scam to pull on visitors and tourists of your city. side note: the police were opposite of the restaurant employees/owner/mgrs., who were unhelpful, rude, unscrupulous and deceptive. Police were friendly, funny and tried to help! Dont ever allow people to coerce you to do anything you do not want to do. And do not pay for bad food. Send it back. If they cant get it right, leave. Call the police if you are held hostage and treated like prisoners. We may contact the news/media about this story. There were cameras all over the restaurant to prove our night was wrong on every level.
My favorite sushi restaurant in the Netherlands (so far). Goya offers all you can eat sushi and they do it right. They have a tablet menu which makes ordering so much easier and quicker than with the paper menus. You order from the tablet and it stays at the table so you can order throughout your meal. In addition to this updated ordering method, the servers are quick and friendly. Goya not only offers great service, the food is really good also. The sushi is fresh and well made and the hot dishes are flavorful. I really have no complaints about Goya.
Very good place to eat sushi. We love to go there. It's not too big, and they have some seating that's really cozy, but you'll have to be in luck for them to be vacant. They updated the menu and introduced ordering by tablet. It makes ordering a lot easier, and, paradoxically, gives us more time to chat with the staff then before. The sushi is quite good, lot's of variety. The only think we dislike is when they put mayonnaise or lots of sauce on various sushi. The unagi sauce is delicious, but the mayonnaise on other sushi's can be skipped if it were up to us. It makes the sushi quite greasy and heavy, which is a shame because they taste really good! A big nono? Fries on the menu. I understand that a sushi restaurant would try to lure and please a big range of customers. But fries? Oh please. All the fried food is bad enough, but serving fries is taking it a step too far. But ok, maybe we should go to a real Japanese restaurant then and not to an all-you-can-eat place. Point taken. Also a plus, is their wasabi. Good taste and nice and spicy. Not the green paste that should be spicy but tastes like nothing, you sometimes get served in these large sushi joints. The chop sticks are a little bit on the large and the slippery side, so they can take some time getting used to. Of course, you can always take your own fav's with you to the restaurant. Like pro's! Over all, a very nice place to eat. They serve different kinds of sake and Japanese beer. Staff is friendly. Ambiance is nice, although I don't really understand the paintings of chocolate ? and strawberry fruits ? in the back. They bring color, sure, but not really sushi or Japan themed. On the other hand, maybe we are turning into sushi snobs! Check it out when you are in the vicinity!
Vriendelijk personeel. Eten is goed en lekker. Prijs is een beetje aan de dure kant. Ik ken betere sushi restaurant. Keus is niet genoeg en de rijst is niet kleverig genoeg. Porties te groot met teveel rijst. Maar wel een aanrader.
