There was an immed... read more We were a party of 10 and visited Le Fonetic, which is located about 1km from the sea front at Nice and in quite a built up residential area. There was an immediate warm welcome and we were offered an outside table. In the UK sitting on the pavement next to a fairly busy road with the back of your chair almost touching a parked car would not generally be appreciated, but in the South of France it was an ideal setting and felt like you were on holiday. The menus are via electronic tablets and is very comprehensive. We went straight for mains and the selection we chose were Ribs, Salmon, burgers and Duck. I had the ribs and they were excellent, generous portion and the tomato & pepper sauce went perfectly. Everyone agreed the food was excellent. For desert it wad a mixture of their version of chocolate fondant and apple tart tartin which we again thoroughly enjoyed. The service throughout the meal was very attentive and helpful. This restaurant had a high trip advisor rating and is fully justified and I would certainly recommend if you are in Nice.

They served the aperitif of the house which was a long drink made of Campari and some tingling liquid. Not too sweet and really good. For starters we had snails with a dainty herb butter sauce and buttery smooth foie gras accompanied by a glass of Sauternes. The main courses were spare ribs and duck. Both were very delicious and tender!
