We visited La Rotonde two times and we were very satisfied in both evenings. First we had very nice dinner in terrace of La Rotonde with beef filet and guineaflowl. Both dishes were very delicious. Service was also very friendly and casual. Unfortunately waiter forgot our dessert order and even more unfortunately was that she tried to explain her mistake with computer error. Very believable! On Friday evening we had... View all feedback.
What Claude Legault doesn't like about La Rotonde:
This venue is over priced and very average. The waiter did not want us to sit at a table for 4 (just 2 of us), in case he got 4 come in, so suggested we sit on a bench under the speakers. The did not know what a Kir Royale was. To pay £25 for 2 drinks in such a average atmosphere was ridiculous. View all feedback.
Gorgeous food with delightful and fun interior, and some fantastic cocktails and service to match, alongside beautiful piano music we had a really enjoyed luncheon and recommend the experience when in Nice a nice touch was the complimentary asparagus mousse and to finish the delicious chocolates

An enforced change of plan gave us the idea to visit this stunning hotel. I don't think it is unfair to say it is THE hotel of Nice. Perhaps not the most modern, perhaps not the most easy on the pocket but for tradition, service , wow factor it delivers in spades. We only visited for drinks & prices are certainly high (15 euros for a glass of wine, 11 euros a small beer, cocktails 20 euros +++) but for a belated anniversary treat we thought why not?. The bar is very English in appearance, elegant with lots of wood panelling & comfortable seating. Service was impeccable & we couldn't have felt better looked after if we had been staying in their premier room. My husband opted for a Singapore sling whilst I went for a Pimms Royale. Watching the barman prepare the drinks was pure theatre in itself and nothing was hurried. The drinks arrived accompanied by a lovely snack tray. - bread sticks with tapenade, wasabi nuts/nibbles and cashew nuts. My Pimms Royale was a work of art, adorned with redcurrants, decorative cucumber flower and bosting blueberries, strawberries & mint in the drink itself. This delicious concoction of Pimms liqueur & champagne was perfect for a hot evening on the Côte d'Azur. My husband's Singapore sling went down equally wellThe "facilities" are fun and entertaining - very individual. Linger in the circular salon on the way back to the bar area - it is just beautiful. Huge, stunning chandelier and an eclectic collection of paintings, sculptures and interesting objects to catch the eye. I gave Le Negresco 5 stars for value because though in monetary terms it is expensive you get so much more than just a drink. It is a total experience.
I had cocktails which were served with great passion and the bites accompanying it were super. overlooking promenade the location is super for sundowners
We celebrated the arrival of our son on our Riviera holiday by having a drink in the seafront hotel Le Negresco just down the road from where about 100 revellers were killed by a terrorist on Bastille Day 2016.We had a chocolate viennoise ie with cream, a standard café au lait and some wine for €44.This is not cheap, obviously, but worth it for the ambiance and the interestingly decorated hotel lobby. The bar itself has wood panelling and was apparently intended to invoke an English theme.
