An absolute pleasure in the first night of Nice. Food was good and the waiters are super nice and attentive. Very helpful with wine recommendations. We had 2 appetizers and 2 main courses, a bottle of wine, plus dessert and espresso all came to 123 EUROs. Very competitive price. Will come back again if we have time View all feedback.
Small restaurant full of charm, nice location, with very good food and a different menu, great wine and very nice staff.
Visited for my 30th birthday, tried to go last night but it was fully booked with queues so booked for this evening instead. Table booked for 7pm, Well we arrived at 6.54 to which the waiter told us they weren’t open for another 15 mins even though we had booked for 7pm. We walked around nice arrived back after 7pm were seated by around 7.10pm. The menu sounded good, a lovely typical French restaurant, perfect for what I was looking for for my birthday. Especially with all the brilliant reviews from online. We ordered a carafe of wine, and a bottle of still water. We chose mussels, egg parfait beef pate the pate was a little like a pork pie and had burnt bits in it, the egg parfait was nice not what we were expecting but that could be due to translation, runny yolk the mussels were in presented in an almost olive oil water they really lacked in flavour. We had eaten mussels in the square the day before which had more flavour. For main we had two chefs risotto, duck with dauphinois I decided to have two starters as main the tuna tartare mussels. The risotto was good, with a fresh lemon running though it but nothing special. The duck lacked salt massively but the dauphinoise was nice. The mussels again we tasteless however the tuna tartare was delicious what I had hoped the whole meal would have tasted like. It was very fresh packed full of flavour. We paid the bill and we’re in and ate two courses within an hour of sitting down. no exaggeration. The bill was €171 we enjoyed a far better dinner at Type 55 (down the road) 3 courses with a bottle of wine for the same price. Very disappointing, not what I expected from a Michelin recommendation all the recommendations online. A real shame being our last night in nice.
There are an awful lot of restaurants in this area of Nice and it's tricky to choose from them all but this one is pretty nice for Nice. I mean Nice is nice and it's nice to be in Nice at any time of the year but this restaurant is very nice! Anyway, back to the food. The portions aren't huge but they are really tasty. The wine is well priced and our lunch for two came to around €60. A nice price for nice food in Nice!
We have been visiting the Nice area for the past several years and have eaten at this restaurant each year. This is not ultra fine dining but it is very, very good and, to be frank, I much prefer more "relaxed" dining. I believe the restaurant has improved each year. First, and foremost, the food is excellent but, in addition, the staff has improved each year. You cannot enjoy an excellent meal if you feel, as a tourist, that you are merely suffered. On our most recent visit in June 2017, with a table of five trying to navigate the blackboard menu, our waiter, a young man from Italy, Jacopo, with great patience and humor - in excellent English - repeatedly translated and explained the multiple choices available. Of course, over the years a dish here or there has disappointed but these have been the exception. Your table options are: outside, "front" room or the back room near the kitchen, (our favorite).
