We visited lágua because the TripAdvisor reviews caught our attention. It is a rather small restaurant in the second row to the old port of Nice. No prix fix menu but a la carte. We had scallops – two – on a bed of vegetables followed by le Loup – a very tasty local fish. Dessert was a chocolate cake.Interesting wines that the owner and waiter helped us find to go with the meal – a very tasty chardonnay as the best a... View all feedback.
Fish of the day. small choice on the menu. first arrived first served. Probably the best fresh fish nice.
During week in Nice, this was only restaurant I visited twice. Great local, fresh seafood, expertly cooked. Chocolate cake is best I've ever had. Owner mentioned seafood is a tough sell when you're not on the port. So, if you're on the port now, trying to choose, Agua is a block away...and worth every step.
We made a booking on a recommendation and from the moment we arrived, this resteraunt felt good. We were offered a great choice of seating and chose the outside balcony. It was I the side street that also held, to my delight, "the classic car club". We were bought the blackboard menu and it was explained properly. We ordered and also a Rose from Provence. My entree scampi were perfect. Helens Tatare was also first class. Followed by a boiullibasse and my excellent risotto. The service was attentive and friendly. I felt these guys actually cared and if you are looking for a good, inventive seafood restaurant try this and tell me what you think.
Really high quality sea food. Mussles seasoned to perfection. The whole meal was really nice and the wine list was outstanding. My only gripe was the service is a little snooty and pretentious. Will return when back in Nice beginning of March.
This little restaurant is located in a street just behind the harbour. It is provided with an unpretentious terrace that is however very pleasant to stay. Serge, the charismatic owner, shows and explains to you the very short menu written on a blackboard, after offering a delicious rustic bread accompanied with a local virgin olive oil as a welcome sign. We chose the very good salad of scallops and artichokes as a starter, followed by a John Dory fillet with mushrooms and vegetables and a black risotto with calamary as main course. Everything was very fresh, tasteful and delicious, especially the black ink-risotto. Finally a restaurant in Nice that adopts the right rice (Carnaroli) to make a perfect risotto, for sure the best I ever eat here, notwithstanding the useless presence (at least for my palate) of some chorizo slices in it, giving an Ispanish touch to a recipe that was already perfect without. As a dessert we took a delicious peach gazpacho with icecream. Tempting list of wines, though the jug with the bio house wine was so and so. Better to order a bottle for the next time.
