Jake's Chip Wagon - Niagara Falls

Jakes is a local icon. You haven't had fresh hot home made French fries like Jake serves anywhere else.

They are the best hand cut fries in Niagara Falls only salt and vinegar & malt vinegar served with these fries! Usually open on Friday and Saturday only.

You can't beat these folks for freshness - while you wait, a fellow is happily peeling and cutting fresh potatoes. Can't get much fresher a than that. The fries are well-cooked in fresh oil but thick-cut fries just are t my thing. I prefer thinner, crisper fries, preferably ones that have been double-fried. We sought out this place because they were touted as the best in the Niagara region. I definitely would not go that far but they are fresh and well-prepared.

If you are downtown Niagara Falls along Queen Street on a Friday or Saturday be sure to look for the old blue and white "Jake's Chip Wagon." You will likely have to wait in line to be served but any wait is well worth it. They know how to do fries! They are piping hot and so delicious. All you need to do is add a little salt and vinegar to your taste. Don't expect to order a hamburger or hot dog because at Jake's all they serve are chips and pop. Remember to look for the truck, you won't be sorry that you did, just that you didn't!
