Lewinters - Newtownards
Lewinters
Description
Nestled in Bangor, Le Winters has garnered a mix of opinions from patrons. While some have praised its vibrant atmosphere and attentive staff, others felt the ambiance could be dim and uninviting. The food shows variability: a standout for some, with memorable dishes and beloved family celebrations, but lackluster and even unsatisfactory for others—particularly in terms of steak quality and oversight in hygiene. Nonetheless, the warm service and efforts to engage families, especially children, often punctuate the dining experience. Overall, Le Winters remains a popular choice, though improvements in consistency and atmosphere could enhance its reputation further.

Just want to thank your chef for the tastiest, hottest and spiciest curry I had last night (2/6/23) even though it brought tears to my eyes I enjoyed it
I took my son out for a birthday meal, and I must say the food was the best I've ever had at any hotel. The service was excellent as well.
The restaurant had a dim and uninviting atmosphere, despite the friendly staff. The ambiance felt quite gloomy during the day. As for the food, it was average—nothing particularly memorable, and at times, a bit bland.
I rated the food low due to the steak. I take my steaks seriously, whether they're cooked over a flame, in a hot pan, or under a grill. Unfortunately, the steak I received was tough and of poor quality—it simply wasn’t good. The pepper sauce, fries, and dessert were excellent, however. But the steak really brought the experience down. On a positive note, the service was fantastic and very friendly.
