Contribute Feedback What Byron R likes about The Union Hotel:
Cracking place to meet up because it has ample space, a decent pool table, and I specifically enjoy the diverse range of beers on tap. The food covers all spectrums of taste. And on probably a moot point, they frustratingly, won't swap the fries out for anything else on the main meals. I have raised this with them without response. While not a deal breaker, I'd be interested to hear if someone can explain why this ca... View all feedback.
What Joe Beer doesn't like about The Union Hotel:
As a pub you won't get the beer wine and spirits thing wrong cause all you have to do is make selection and provide delivery.Unfortunately for The Union it's the food where things go horribly wrong. With a menu that resembles Wendy's (poor mans mcdonalds) this can only be described as a car accident.Best avoid this, unless of course your on a beer diet.#sosad View all feedback.
A friend led me a few weeks back to the botany view hotel for a meal, and I found the experience so funny, we thought we would have another pub dinner in enmore (the lower end of the king street, newtown.) the union hotel has been there for several years for canyons, although I think they change the menu and the cook all couple of years. on a Wednesday night it was beautifully humming; it is what I liked about the feeling of the other pub. friends and couples and families for a tasty bite, a beautiful meal in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
Bier selection is there with the best of them. many local independent beer eating is up there with the best pubs. it is not good to eat, but they have a great selection of great sandwiches, burgers and pub classics.
Large modern restaurant on the back of the union, with its own bar and two beer gardens. stylish and spacious with comfortable chairs and an absentness of booming, irritating music. the menu is interesting, with some unusual burgers, fishtacos and a series of salads, as well as the usual steaks and carving. good selection of be on tap and friendly staff. the fishtacos were great with crumblebarramundi and the children's castles better than most pub childrenburgers. I ordered a pastrami reuben, which was good but not great, and pommes frites (they do French, curly or sweet kartoffel.) we also had a bump steak, with salat and chips also good. decent pub food option at the southern end of the king street.
If they have children avoid this place. we have a policy that all children must sit, said the young ding from behind the doorstep. that is added to a No-Kind front bar area. I have a policy that I do not go to pubs with ridiculous families unfriendly staff and politics. there are so many good pubs in the opposite, my advice for families is one of them trying unless they want to regulate and maintain. we will not be back. always.
Love the renovated section out the back! We managed to get a booth which was cozy and almost like your own private dining area. The burgers here are fantastic, great flavor in the patty. Chips were cooked perfectly. I like the fact they have a sauce and flavored salt bar. Waitress for the bistro is always friendly and helpful. This place will become a regular for me
