The Cake Can is a beloved spot in Newtown with a welcoming staff, lovely ambiance, and delicious cakes! While it may be a bit pricey, the sweet slices of cake are worth it. Some of the favorites include the coffee cream pie and key lime flavors... simply delicious.
Pre ordered a pumpkin cake from their long dessert menu and could not be happier. Although a bit on the expensive side, the cake was very big and absolutely dreamy. It's hard not to find a good pumpkin cake in Sydney anymore!
I have recently discovered my new favorite pie shop. I absolutely loved everything about the cakes I tried. The crispy crust was delicious, perfectly baked, and the gourmet fillings took each cake to the next level! I tried the "Pizza" pie with triple smoked ham, artichokes, slices of olives, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. The aroma was irresistible and the taste was exceptional, reminiscent of a gourmet pizza in the form of a baked pastry. The "Beef Brisket" pie with slowly roasted brisket, mushrooms, coffee, and maple glaze was gourmet at its finest. Personally, I preferred a sweeter glaze, but that didn't stop me from devouring this delicious pie. For dessert, the "Maple Chocolate Strawberry" was the perfect choice. The delicately baked Belgian chocolate brownies topped with maple macerated strawberries was a delightful ending to the meal. Next time, I plan to try the "Mixed Sweet Cake Thick Shakes," which combines a piece of sweet cake of your choice with milkshakes. I can't wait to indulge in more sweet treats at this amazing pie shop.
My partner and I visited this restaurant for dinner and spent $40 on two cakes, each with two sides. The cakes were disappointingly flat and lacked filling. It was difficult to discern the taste as they tasted mostly like pastries. The sides were bland and unappetizing, with the salads being overly cold and soggy. The potato side dish was underseasoned and lacked salt. It was disappointing to see such basic mistakes in the kitchen. The overall experience was overpriced, leaving us hungry and unsatisfied. It's a shame that the quality of the food did not meet our expectations.
