Macaroni - Newtown

After watching the Romeo and Juliet Ballet at the Enmore theatre, I visited Macaroni for a late dinner. Even though they were packing up, the chef and the staff met us with smiles on their faces. The chef made fresh pastas right in front of us. The wholesomeness of those pastas was so satisfying. I ordered chilli linguine and the chef was generous with the king prawn serving. As a matter of fact, it was the most generous chilli linguine I have had to date. Whatever we wanted, they gave us from some extra chilli on the side to a generous serving of cheese. <br/ <br/ After eating at numerous establishments, you really start to appreciate good customer service and this restaurant had one of the best!

I don't understand other reviewers. This is a very good food in most of the dishes. Yes the Greek options are a waste but the pasta is fabulous. Great sauce, better than most in all the way down un up that road. The service is excellent. I know they is a waiter that doesn't belong in that place but that's bad management not bad food. I have been 4 times and I have never been dissatisfied with the food. I try souvlaki from a friend one time he order and was not good but Italian pasta plates been creamy sauce or tomato base are delicious, good flavour. Dedication and timing. I definitely recommend it

My girlfriend and I visited on a whim a few weeks ago, as the other restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. We were pleasantly surprised - we both had lamb, and it was cooked perfectly. The sides were generous and delicious, and the service was excellent. Recommended!

This place is fantastic! The food is delicious! The breakfast is great and the lunch and dinner menu is excellent. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, you can't go wrong with this place!

The restaurant projects a warm ambience from the street and there on glance at their signage will reveal something everyone is familiar with. We waited about 15 minutes for a Satuday night which wasn't too bad and was shown our table that had been nice prepared. Naturally you would lean towards the pasta dishes here but there was a good choice of mains and specials on offer. The fact that there was a Lamb Souvalaki and Mixed grill dish on the menu made me feel it was a Greek owner. Risotto of Chicken and Mushrooms - very creamy and rich but way too much cream was used but the risotto itself was cooked well. Mixed Grill - Apparently the cause of our meal to take 45 minutes to be served which would be excused if it was in fact good. The meats all looked like they were cooked in a hurry.
