Was Invalds Vītola at Handcraft Specialty Coffee a mag?
It's very rare to find Panama geisha in Sydney's coffee shops. Handcraft seemed not just to purchase from Proud Mary's Melbourne, but also use their skills to perfect it. The price was 3ish times more than normal coffee, but it worths a try. View all feedback.

What Joelle Ritchie dislikes about Handcraft Specialty Coffee:
A really great find.... Tucked away at one end of Newtown, but if you want a really awesome coffee experience, you won't be disappointed. Very fast and enthusiastic service too. All in all, a great spot! Must come back and try the food when I have more time... View all feedback.

An interesting cafe obviously obsessed with specialty coffee and educating customers. Coffee ordered: Double espresso, a Colombian coffee this time. It was a well extracted, bright and juicy espresso. A little sharp for me as I prefer more berry and chocolate flavour profiles ... but I wasn't asked or offered other singles at the time. It was served in an espresso cup but it just fit the double, I would have preferred a small mug to swirl and cool the espresso. Ambience: Lots of people on laptops and from the looks of it just hanging out. Which is great and I think Newtown is the perfect place for that kind of atmosphere. Unfortunate for me I had to take a seat outside, which is not a great spot, windy and busy foot traffic make for an uninviting experience. Well if I were on a stroll down king st, which does happen often, I would stop in for a takeaway and am keen to try other brews.

Coffee by Proud Marry. This cute little cafe also serving a good chai latte, you can choose between loose leaf or bag. They have a decent size selection of cake and pastry too. On the table with your coffee, they give you a bottle of water with sprig of mint leaves to par fine the water. Nice touch.

*Awesome* place. Run by lads who are as passionate about coffee as I am about tea. They were happy to spend time explaining different coffees and their processing techniques which added to the whole experience. And the coffee wow. One of only two times in my life where I could drink and truly enjoy the flavour of black coffee. An absolute treat and a real experience.

My experience was that Handcraft provided both an excellent product and top service. I arrived before my drinking partner and they immediately gave me some water not just tap water, either. Ice cold, in a bottle with a sprig of mint. When my partner arrived I ordered the Ethiopian coffee in long back format and it was really excellent in terms of flavour and temperature. My partner had the granola (but without the yoghurt and with soy milk instead. The soy milk came in a cute little bottle, the granola was good (included nuts and fresh fruit on top was beautifully presented. They noticed when our water was nearly finished and they quickly provided a new bottle we didn't have to request it. *AND* a very comfortable cushion was provided to sit on (other hipster café owners, take note! The only improvement I can see needed is to have more vegan food available, otherwise I have no hesitation in recommending this place. Maybe I was just lucky?
