Their... read more A great little addition to the south end of king st.  I particularly like their range of "alternative to coffee" options (matcha and turmeric mylk). Their food offering seems quite seasonal as dishes seem to pop up on their specials menu and others go.  Definitely worth a visit!

Located at the quieter arm of King, Either Or have been opened f... read more It's hard not to notice such an airy and fresh cafe among the colours and character of Newtown. Located at the quieter arm of King, Either Or have been opened for only a short time but a late afternoon visit over the weekend indicates its already quite well known. The decor is clean and simple. White walls, eclectic monochrome artworks perfectly placed on the walls. Details as far as golden serving spoons in marble dishes for salt, pepper and sugar, residing next to spots of greenery on each table. Details flow on to the dishes, and I really need to say I ate the prettiest bowl of granola that's ever touched my sight.  Strategic it may be, despite the presentation, there isn't a great deal of wow behind the food. That being said, it's good, but also smallish. Practice makes perfect, and in my mind with a fit out like this, and only service relatively down-pat, there is only room to focus more on food, leaving me hopeful for improvement. The fried capers on the Salmon Smorrebrod weren't too crisp, tasting a little oily. Presentation of this also requires a bit of work to make it a practical eat. The granola is visually spectacular, tasty with the addition of maple replacing honey, but it a little on the small side.  Staff are rather friendly, and easy to chat with. There are informal seating areas at the front of Either Or to watch-away with your coffee, and mixed seating high and low toward the rear. They can cater for a large group in a well executed nook with a dashing table centerpiece. The vibe here is free of pretension leaving is a casual executed space to escape the energy of King should you need to. crumbs-au.com

Lovely little cafe... read more I’ve been here a couple of times and had the same meal cause I enjoyed it so much the first time. The standard didn’t change between visits. Lovely little cafe in Newtown with an outdoor courtyard. The staff are lovely. Food was wholesome and you can tell good and local produce is used. The coffee is also great. I left feeling full.

Both tasted amazing and presentation was literally stunning. The food here was so high quality it might be the best food I’ve bought from a cafe Although the wait time for our dishes did take a while but we were more than happy to wait.
