While I would have pr... read more During my visit in July 2017, I stopped by for a light second lunch and ordered toasted Turkish bread with peanut butter and a cappuccino. While I would have preferred unsweetened peanut butter, it was still enjoyable. The coffee, however, was weak and lukewarm, although it had a thick layer of foam which I appreciated. The atmosphere was pleasant, allowing me to relax and observe the hustle and bustle of Newtown. The staff was lovely and the toilets were relatively clean. It is worth noting that there is no wifi available in the cafe; instead, you need to connect to the council's wifi. Additionally, there is a 50c surcharge for EFTPOS transactions under $10. Despite these minor inconveniences, I will likely return to this restaurant in the future.

We ordered a big platter to share (see photo attached). The food was simple but really good, not pricey at all. They also serve alcohol which is a good thing too.I will be back!

Service and food may take a while, but the affordable prices make it worth the wait. I tried the poached eggs on toast with hash browns and was not disappointed. The only downside was the difficulty of eating the toasted sourdough. Overall, I recommend this café."

The out... read more Friends suggested this humble cafe as a place to meet for Saturday brunch and though I’ve passed by this place one zillion times, I’ve never stopped in. The outdoor tables are all filled so we grab a comfortable one inside, but not before James shows me the intriguing table and swing-out chairs in the back underneath the large flower plant wall arrangement: with Nepalese or Indian writing, perhaps something from a South Asian train station? A beautiful object, though uncomfortable seats, apparently.
