Oh my god! I woke up thinking about the chicken, pickles and BBQ sauce after eating at Bovine and Swine....Quite possibly the best meat I have ever eaten. The place is packed and the seating is on the squishy side, but you have to try this place. Amazing!! View all feedback.
What Jalen McLaughlin doesn't like about Bovine & Swine Barbecue Co.:
We made a special trip to Bovine and Swine, based on the reviews here - we were badly disappointed. We ordered a platter and left half of it. The ribs were burned and dry, with only 3 or 4 mouthfuls actually edible on two ribs. The brisket was tough and grisly. The chopped pork was OK, but rather cold, as was the chicken. The "special sausages" were also full of gristle and pipes (blood vessels), making us wonder what... View all feedback.
Dropped in for a quick dinner on way to the airport. The service was quick and extremely friendly... very limited menu which I like! I opted for the BBQ pork sandwich with slaw which was very nice! The pickles with this were delicious! Seriously delicious!! Also got a side of beans brazed with beef which wasn't quite so good... all up $19!!Delicious quick meal which was good enough to definitely head back again! Dinner only - only a few nights a week check it out in line!
Went to Bovine and Swine last Friday night for a mates birthday, we grabbed a 6 pack from down the street and shared a meat plate. I opted for the chicken which was great, the brisket which was even better and the beef rib which was a life changing experience. We went with the beans and slaw sides and walked out not being able to fit another bite in? Best meal I've had in ages.
We've travelled a lot in America and eaten a lot of BBQ and we agree that Bovine & Swine does some pretty damn fine meats. Been here many times and it's always good. Today had a Chicken sandwich - chicken very tender, saucy zingy and coleslaw delicious in a perfect sized bun. Onion, pickle and chips (of the packet variety not the Fried variety) on the side. Washed down by a Canada Dry and an A & W. Staff are friendly. Service is quick. Place is pleasantly busy. Sitting in the sunshine on King Street eating BBQ makes everything right with the world for a half hour or so.
