There is no shortage of eccentric places in Newtown, in fact the whole suburb is full of enigma or some may say character.  So when I stepped inside Blacks... read more There is no shortage of eccentric places in Newtown, in fact the whole suburb is full of enigma or some may say character.  So when I stepped inside Blacksheep, I was not going to question what the hell the decoration was supposed to be.  Animal skulls, a large portrait of Kramer from Seinfeld on the mentalpiece, dark lights, nothing suggested an obvious theme, but everything randomly yet effectively worked together.  The drinks were mainly wine and craft beers. The bar staff patiently took orders from our group of 6 girls, some beer drinkers and others wine.  He made recommendations when necessary and after a long 10 minutes we all got a drink in hand and happily settled in a table near the bar.  It didn't have loud music, it didn't have rowdy patrons, it was laid back and perfect for chill over a glass of drink with friends. thernbdiary.com

Really love live music and that there are some venues in Sydney that are doing this. We stopped in for a quick drink. My mate had a darker beer, and I had a pilsner. The vibe is good, kind of a relaxed sort of rustic living room thing going on. I'll have to try the food sometime. andyquan.com
