Ledu Thai Eatery - Newton

We ordered two dishes with tofu and specifically requested no fish sauce. However, when the dishes arrived, they were both covered in fish sauce. There were no labels on the menu indicating the use of fish sauce in the dishes. When we explained that we were vegan and returned the food, they informed us that they would have to charge us 50% more because we did not specify our dietary preferences. It was a disappointing experience and we will not be returning. Vegans beware, simply saying "no fish sauce" when ordering dishes with tofu may not be enough to ensure a completely vegan meal. It's best to explicitly ask if fish sauce is used in the dish.

We decided to have dinner at this restaurant while in Newton due to its good reviews. Despite the limited seating, we were able to secure a table for three. The food arrived quickly, even though the kitchen seemed busy with takeout orders. The pad thai was decent, but not exceptional. My wife preferred the basil fried rice. The Thai iced tea was light and very sweet. Overall, it was a satisfactory experience, but we are accustomed to better dining options in Cambridge and Somerville.

Great thai food. The pumpkin curry and crispy pork pad thai were exceptional. Best Thai food I've had in a while. Also, had the jalapeno wings which were good, nothing special, but very solid. Fast service. Great little place.

The Thai food at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. It's the top choice in the Boston region. We will definitely return!
