Great service. what a small jewel in newstead. wants to be definatley back. absolutely loved!!!
An excellent discovery in newstead that quickly becomes a favorite. chef paul hoffman produces excellent dishes, with classic technology that shows the difference between many suburban voices. friendly staff, and always a welcome for recurring customers. a venue that would make a casual lunch or drink, but also with a menu that would make a special occasion unforgettable
Beautiful atmosphere! perfect for date night or any special occasion! one must also go and her Sunday cheese special is amazing! outside and inside seat. book in advance to get a beautiful inside seat on the window with a fantastic view both on the interior of the restaurant and on the street!
We dined here tonight and found the experience average for the price. The standout was the octopus entree. The octopus and pickled chilli combination was really tasty. We didn't feel the polenta added anything to the dish. For mains, we had the steak and chicken. The steak was a good portion size and tasty, but extremely chewy; our jaws really got a workout. The sauce was nice, but salty, and the carrot puree serving with the fish was quite scarce. The chicken dish also had a general portion of meat. The asparagus was tasty too. It was also salty. The mushroom side dish was two mushrooms. It was tasty, but very simple. The wine selection by glass was poor. They charge for on tap sparkling water $4pp unlimited. Note that our glasses were never topped up, even though I had an empty glass with the main meal. That is a rip off had we known they were charging, we would have asked for refills (which should be done without us requesting it). The restaurant was not busy. The ambience was not amazing and decor average. The venue did not appear wheelchair accessible, as it had almost half a flight of stairs to enter.
