After a lapse of several years, I went into Demaria's a number of months ago and have been blown away by the incredible freshness and variety of the seafood. Every meal has been a culinary delight. I have always stopped for the freshest seafood and best selection of local offerings; not to mention the great advice on varieties of fish and cooking methods. I think the family is also addicted to the amazing crab dip they sell. Today we decided to order some prepared food to go for lunch and it was amazing! Between the group of 8 we had Shrimp and Oyster Po'boys; flounder, whiting and catfish platters and a fish sandwich. Everything was phenomenal and perfectly seasoned and prepared. So much food for a great price and easily the best fresh seafood I've had in years! Highly recommend everyone stop in and meet the amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff........

NAME IT- THEY GOT IT They truly are a SEAFOOD shop selling everything your heart may desire and bringing you the best prices and best quality you can get in the hampton roads region! Shrimp and tuna prices are AMAZINGLY competitive and averages 2$ or more cheaper for against any large 'Chain ' Super market Lindsay makes some of the best fried fish and gumbo that served and cooked fresh to order and will steam anything right on spot for you and give it to you piping hot! You love oysters??? They got the BEST oysters around putting most from other areas to shame- coming from Oyster grounds that have been in the family for generations after generations- NO ONE in Virginia waters can beat a james river wild grown cages free oyster!
Found this place via Internet search. Son is stationed in Newport News and we wanted fresh seafood. Drove up and picked up some fresh clams to steam. Oh my! I also picked up some crab dip. This was amazing; like lick the bowl good. Going back to try the prepared food soon.
As a former employee, I can tell you that the DeMarias family is amazing, they care about people and care about the quality of their seafood. Every time I come home I buy a box of oysters. You just don't find people like them or seafood as fresh. Thank you for everything John and family!
