Staying at Tredegar House and took a walk to The Stonehouse to enjoy a drink in the beer garden (we’ve already visited twice this week). We were shocked to be told the outside area was closed despite all the tables being out and the gate... View all feedback.
Fantastic food and service yet again! Lovely evening catching up with family. Service great as so the food! Chicken Nachos to die for
It was the first time my family and I visited the Stonehouse and our experience was a pleasure. We felt welcome with friendly staff assisting our every need. The atmosphere was comfortable, the food and drinks were perfect. My wife and I tried the new Gyros that we thoroughly enjoyed. I also had a pint of Worthington which was the perfect pint! I will definitely be returning to the Stonehouse in the near future.
The food was great but certain members of the staff crew were not engaged, and we ended up paying more as we were not told that we could save money with the lunch offer until we checked the menu. We have made the enquiry about it but we were totally ignored. Only the lady who possibly was the manager said thank you on our way out, that was a nice touch.
Unfortunately our visit was let down by a very rude team as we entered the building we were rudely asked where we were going and my reply was to our table (my uncle was celebrating his 80th so family had already reserved tables) to which this rude ignorant girl said you have to wait to be seated, another team member then asked what’s the name I replied the name it was under to which she said we have no booking of that name but once she looked down her list we were seated. After this my daughter went to the bar to order an alcoholic drink (she is 19) to which staff challenged her for ID (whilst I appreciate this is standard) my daughter explained she had forgot her ID but she had a picture of her passport on her phone but the girl would not accept this. I then went to the bar to order drinks n ordered a drink for my daughter to be rudely told I could not have any alcohol at all for my daughter. This continued all afternoon even though we did not purchase any alcohol for her she questioned us each time we came to the bar. Then after all spending a good few hundred pound on food and drinks the rude member of staff came to the table to tell us all we needed to move from the area at 5 as they would need to clean the area. My feedback from this visit is intended to send some of the team on a customer service course. If you do not have the skills required to work in hospitality get a job elsewhere. The food was on point everybody enjoyed it but the way we were treated by this jumped up fool was not acceptable.
Let's start by saying the new summer menu looks great. Lots of different dishes if you've a large appetite then here's the place to go. We really enjoyed the curry platter the Gyrios dish, forgive my mis-spelling. But the star of the show is the garlic bread, just on another level. Thanks as always to Sharon the staff for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
