I have seen this place across the street from the Holiday Inn Express for the past year, but only had the chance to stop in today. I was very pleasantly surprised! The food was really good, the people very friendly, and it is obviously a place the locals frequent regularly. It is much more like visiting a family's home in many ways. Home made everything, big portions and a full bar to take the edge off of a stressful... View all feedback.
What Dionne G doesn't like about Cousins Food Emporium:
Food was ok, though portion size was pretty small for a dinner, I had a Chicken Souvlaki dinner $19.95) . I must say the owners are very focused, and are not very friendly or talkative. The hostess was very pleasant, though busy with cleaning the tables and floors. I went between 4 5 pm for take out and it was not busy, though they were anticipating the dinner rush. Again the food was ok for this mom and pop restaura... View all feedback.
Great service and great food. I'm Glad we found this place and look forward to sampling more of the menu. The steak was sumptuous and I highly recommend the homemade brownie for dessert. It's better than visiting your actual cousins.
We loved our dinner! The staff are friendly from the minute you arrive and the service and food were both wonderful. Huge portions so come hungry!
The Philly beef sandwich is really good! We are here for a hockey tournament and this place is right across the street from our hotel. 2 nights in a row they have stayed open late for us: . Very friendly service and good food.
First time at the new cousins restaurant. I grew up with cousins as part of my teenage years. The ownership has changed and it is a new staff as well. It's opening day, so they are getting used to running the restaurant, so I will be fair in my comments. The staff is friendly, the place is recently renovated and more up to date. The place is clean, and there are lots of places to sit. There is plenty of staff as well to serve the clientele. The staff is getting used to running the restaurant. I ordered a steak and vegetables. My friend had the prime rib. It was okay. I don't think I would return on the strength of the meal. There are several other items on the menu that would likely be a good fit for others, but I have limited options, and the menu is not geared towards people who need changes made to the menu. It has not been thought out. The menu looks good and the new renovations have breathed some new life into an aging restaurant. It's a great start.
Renovated. Everything. My last review was several years ago, and my key issue had been resolved. This is beyond a mere face lift , rather its a total metamorphosis. The interior is very red--from the red vinyl upholstery to the red wallpaper. Very red, but miles of improvement from the old place. The menu also underwent a major market change. Cousins is now a steakhouse, vying for the coveted diner in the Keg and Milestones range. Did they get it? I was looking at the menu, intently eyeing the Rib Steak and Prime Rib. I was told the Rib Steak is actually a true Ribeye. But the Prime Rib is not carved, but instead is cooked individually on the grill. I am going to go back to see if it competes with the Keg. I wound up ordering the Back Ribs. I noticed they were almost identical to Baton Rouge, right up to the thinner than normal fries seasoned the same way. Normally $27, I would say they are equal to Baton Rouge, except for the coleslaw that seemed to have kale in it (ugh). So Cousins get an extra star, but if they can equal or beat the Keg with the Ribeye or Prime Rib I can see bumping them up to my 4 star rating (I reserve 5 stars for off the hook exceptionalism)
