What Sluggerrouge doesn't like about A Taste Of The Islands:
I ordered takeout from this restaurant. The Jerk Chicken and pork were perfectly spicy and cooked just right. The portion sizes were decent overall, but the greens were lacking. The side of fresh vegetables and coleslaw that came with our dinner entrees were extremely small, only giving us two bites worth. The salad entree felt more like a side dish in terms of size. I had the chicken curry roti; it was delicious and reminded me of the great rotis I had in Kensington Market decades ago. Great flavour, soft flour rotis with the ground chickpeas between, a generous portion of tender chicken. I will definitely order from hem again and will try out other items on their menu. read moreA Taste of the Islands offers a mix of fantastic and disappointing experiences according to various customers. The food, including the jerk pork, curry chicken, and curry goat roti, is delicious but portions can be small for the price. The service and ambiance can leave something to be desired, with slow service and a run-down appearance in need of repair. The atmosphere and friendly staff are highlights, with flavors that transport diners to the islands. In conclusion, the restaurant receives mixed reviews with a focus on flavorful dishes but improvements needed in service and overall experience.
Super yummy! Love their jerk pork, it basically melts in your mouthAnd the roti is jam packed with deliciousness.
