Just follow signs to the p... read more Pretty good Chinese restaurant. It would be a good place to go if you're at an event at Excel or staying in one of the nearby hotels. Just follow signs to the passport office and you'll find it (and possibly not find the passport office, which appears to be tucked away behind it).

The dimsum is definitely one of the best in east London. Always fresh and tasty. Staff are friendly. Decor is abit outdated but the food more than makes up for it. Free parking is a big thumbs up too. (Ps. Better than the near by Yi Ban)

A very Large Cavernous hall acts as the main serving area which maybe is suitable during busy conferences dates at the adjacent Excel Exhibition Centre; but in... read more A very Large Cavernous hall acts as the main serving area which maybe is suitable during busy conferences dates at the adjacent Excel Exhibition Centre; but in normal days makes the place feel empty and lacking any atmosphere. Communication with the staff was difficult due to a complete lack of fluent English by any of the members. Somewhat overpriced at over £40 for a one person 2-course Lunch plus one glass of Chinese wine and an (obligatory, even for one person) pot of Tea.

The quality of all the meals was subpar and the condition of the toilets was concerning and unsanitary, making me wonder if they were used by the staff.

The staff behind the bar were unhelpful - four of them just stood there looking clueless, barely acknowledging customers. You ask for a pint, they pour it, ring up the total, and walk away without any pleasantries. The tall black guy and the one with dreadlocks were particularly unfriendly, as was the man with bleached hair. This place is a typical overpriced London establishment with subpar service. I was at a business function and four people independently mentioned how terrible the staff were at The Fox. Additionally, the temperature inside is always cold - I've been coming here for 10 years during WTM and it's never warm during the day.

Other than the manager, who was obviously trying their best to sort everything out, the remainder of the staff came across clueless. They had also run out of a number of drinks. I hear the chicken poppers are good though, when they arrive.

We were still able to get a drink in good time, and the security people we use great and not excessively good people skills to unravel any drunkenness. Worth a visit.

Was very happy about the quality of the foods that I liked a special mention of the person who served us (I think I was Violette). Extremely helpful and went and checked with the kitchen about what the food included because of a few diet requirements I have. Overall, I have really great place to eat and have a few drinks when you're close.

I... read more This pub has been a regular hunt for mine for years! Was not long back (because of Kovid), but decided to go a bit of lunch and drinks with friends this week. It had a complete renovation and looks amazing! The food was delicious, and the cocktails were divine. Was served by a really beautiful waitress called Violet. She was helpful, especially as we all always very drunk (and angry). Service and atmosphere were amazing. Very recommended!
