The service was amazing, the food was great, and the ambiance with 40's music was authentic. I highly recommend this place!

The drinks are d... read more I have visited this restaurant multiple times and each visit has been exceptional. The main dishes, such as the agedashi tofu, are outstanding. The drinks are delicious and the sushi, especially the grilled salmon nigiri, is some of the best I have had in Australia. The eclectic ambiance and aesthetic work well together, and the service is great. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend Kitami King St., possibly the best restaurant in Newcastle and one of the best in the state. Additionally, their grocer in Carrington is also wonderful if you want to try making your own Japanese food.

The food is very authentic Japanese, the atmosphere is amazing, then on top you have the bar and great Green Tea Ice cream.
