The food the was great and the service was good and from what I am told the coffee is great as well.. (I don't drink coffee but the friends did and they said it was good..) If you want to spend under $50 at a nice place to eat weather its with your friends, family or just your partner, it is a great place to check out... View all feedback.
What Kendall Jacobs doesn't like about Bon Oz Cafe:
This place is an absolute disgrace - a relic of a former time where you can get away with terrible service and awful food and few people will be any the wiser. Firstly - the staff. Easily the rudest, unfriendliest, dismissive bunch I've met. Everything felt dirty, with tables left uncleared around us the entire time we were there. The food was downright miserable (how difficult is it to microwave a piece of lasagne - that's what it was and even that wasn't done well). In addition to this, I was sat wondering whether the food would come out the same day or sometime next year. An absolutely appalling experience - I will never return.
I have been to this café several times, usually just for coffee and cake, and have never had any issues with the food or service. However, my most recent visit was disappointing. We decided to have a light lunch and chose the special of a vegetarian crepe with sour cream, salad, and chips. The crepe was tasty, but the chips turned out to be thin French fries like those from McDonald's. The quality and amount of chips were not very good. The salad was small and had no dressing, and none was offered. The coffee was good as always, but the lemon and lime slice had fresh parsley as a garnish, which was odd.
Coffee standards are high these days and coffee here doesn't cut it. Also had a herbal tea which was virtually undrinkable...a raspberry flavour but whoever made it had used way too much tea.Plenty of other options at Westfield. Feels very old school. I don't like the pay upfront option and believe this attributes to poor service standard as they already have your moneyPlenty of other options at Westfield. Feels very old school.
Decided to try a stand alone cafe at West field Kotara instead of having lunch in the food court. Was pleasantly surprised to find the pricing was no dearer and you get table service as well. I enjoyed the Waugu beef burger and chips and the iced coffee which was excellent.
Had a breakfast here on 27th December. The first waitress was lively the others seemed very grumpy and put out having to deliver food. Food was good came out quickly, we had mega melt. Coffee came out after the meal and it was the worst coffee I have ever had. The coffee was bitter and was too hot to drink. We left them had we of been able to get someone's attention we would of asked for a refund as oddly it is table service but you pay upfront. Next time I'll go to Gloria jeans !
