A friendly and welcoming pub with all the features you’d expect from a Wetherspoon. The beer is reasonably priced, and there's a good selection available (though no Fosters). During my visit, the weather was a bit unpredictable, so I initially sat outside in a sheltered area that appears to have been set up during the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained since. The restrooms were clean as well. Overall, you're in Whick... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Harry Clasper:
the workers should be trained to accept when they are sober, the people they serve may have had a drink, my wife had a good laugh with family and friends, said to go, drink away from her and company said they could not have another drink until they released the spatialities. will we never go back to the bay horse? Would NOT recommend. Got the be the rudest staff I’ve ever came across, especially the so called ‘managers’. Their excuse for being power hungry is that they are enforcing covid rules when they’re not they are just stroking their ego, me and my friends got kicked out after 1 round of drinks and food as they claimed they thought we had ‘had enough’ STILL waiting for a refund from the second round I ordered and did not receive. After reading all the other reviews it’s good to see it’s not just us and people clearly hold the same opinion, If your trying to have a good night with friends please do not go here as the miserable staff will totally ruin your night. Will never ever return.
The managers here are power hungry bully's, they throw out and stop serving young lasses and lads for no good reason but never say a thing to the grown adults that can argue and defend themselves against them. Not to mention the food is always thrown together and always cold. I think people only go because it's cheap, far better pubs in Whickham
Went for breakfast this morning and quickly left. Overheard the manager saying they had no cutlery... on a morning... which only means a very quick wash through a minging dish washer. What did it for me was the grumpy member of staff who wiped a table with a filthy rag and didn’t squirt one bit of sanitiser on it. Won’t be returning.
It’s got to be the coldest bar in Newcastle, to uncomfortable to sit in when you’re just out for quiet drink, won’t be going back there again, sick of complaining.
