The Boathouse - Newcastle upon Tyne

Stopped in for lunch as had heard good things. Staff were very welcoming and this is a pub with lovely traditional charm. Sadly it wasn't warm enough to sit out and enjoy the river views. My husband had burger chips and I had home made corned beef slice and chips. Both were amazing. No flashy presentation just good honest grub. The chips were to die for, proper chips like your gran used to make!!! Only disappointment was the lack of choice of real ales but willing to forgive that because everything else was spot on. Meal drinks cost under £15 for two.

The burgers and fries are priced at £4.50 and they are delicious! The kids' meals are £2.75 and the beer selection is great. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy your meal outside by the river. This traditional pub is lovely and I absolutely love it!

Loads of proper beer and was really tempted to try the pie and peas on offer. Sunday lunch waiting for me that afternoon so had to give it a miss.

Detained by a paint on our way through the shed's door. We had to go exactly 7 steps from HWP buy some very good ale. It's worth it! A beautiful setting overlooking the quiet Tyne River. We enjoyed our drink for 20 minutes and then pressed. Perfect.

We meet this pub on a Wylam ride along the Tyne River. Located right next to the river, it is located in a perfect place if you are doing the same thing.
