the concept feels confused. dishes aren’t cheap and portions are quite small for sharing so it’s not proper tapas. A full 5 or 7 courses also would cost more per person than a Michelin tasting menu. like Wags, the food comes out when it’s ready including some parts of the same dish coming out at separate times. the options are well executed, flavoursome and unique. Albeit nothing is memorable enough to make me crave... View all feedback.
What Karl Murray doesn't like about Route:
nice eating, but make sure that they order sides, because are small in portions. the service was quite bad, we had to wait for 20 minutes on our table and the staff didn't even offer us a drink. we just waited at the door while the table was booked in advance. View all feedback.
This was my first visit and I was not disappointed. The service was exceptional and the food exceeded Michelin standards. It was simply unbelievable and I highly, highly recommend this restaurant. Rachel provided top-notch service and was a true asset to your establishment.
This was our second time visiting The Route. The food is cooked to perfection using the finest ingredients. The must-try item is the black treacle bread, and the new smoked eel dish was flavorful. The highlight of our meal was the ice cream dessert. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the service on both visits. It was slow and lacked attention to detail or care. Despite this, we will still be returning for more of the delicious smoked eel.
Beautiful restaurant with a small plate style of serving. Many beautiful seafood cooked for perfection. You could take care of my men's milk allergy. The staff was super friendly and accomodating and the wines were dwlightful
Absolutely love this place!! First visit today. Small and intimate with very friendly and welcoming staff. Food is absolutely delicious. It's not cheap but for the flavour and freshness you get, who cares?! Great tapas feel with more than enough for the two of us sharing and very reminiscent of a fabulous restaurant in Catalunya called Papibou. Definitely try the Buratta. When you taste the Mozzarella and smoked aubergine, you feel like the inside of your throat is being stroked by a velvet mitten! The monkfish was a bit of a knee-trembler too.
Came to Route for our 8 year Anniversary, atmosphere was excellent, the service staff where friendly and the food was excellent. One of our best meals to date.
