Here we are enjoying our lunch at the Walsh's Snug in Newcastle, Ontario!! We're enjoying the best Fish 'n Chips and Pub Chicken Curry around! Liz, our server, is taking such great care of us we may never go home! She is just the best server around! Sandy and I haven't seen our friend Thelma in a year and she loves our little SNUG in our corner of the world! Coming from Toronto, she thinks we've got it best and she's right! Certainly worth the drive! The Halibut fish n chips are golden and crisp and the curry is to die for! Come by, ask for Liz....you'll be glad you did!!
While travelling back from eastern Ontario a longtime friend and I stopped by for a beer and a quick dinner. This restaurant has some great pub grub and a decent selection of beer. I had the liver and onions that could be cut with your fork and melted your mouth. Sooo tasty. If you plan to go during a meal time call ahead to make sure they have a spot for your tired bones.....
The food was great....Lots of Irish dishes to chose from. Also Wraps and Salads for those who don't want Irish fare. Prices are reasonable and save room for dessert!!!! The Sticky Toffee Pudding is to die for!!!!!
2nd time my wife & I have been here. Food & service are great. You get lots of food at great prices. The specials are always great. I recommend getting a reservation as it can get busy
Read good reviews and made it a stop on our way to "the county". It's proximity to 401 and a great menu selection made it an awesome find. I was immediately impressed by the bright, colourful exterior.Once inside, there is a pub in the front and a dining room filled with antiques and Irish memorabilia in the back?Along the corridor, there is a snug. Varied menu but the value of the breakfast special called to me. It was huge and delicious with 3 eggs, a large sausage, bacon, nicely spiced black pudding, home fries and rye toast for only $8.99. Hubby enjoyed his breakfast roll- a ciabatta bun overstuffed with bacon, egg, sausage, tomatoes and mozzarella and served with fries in a metal basket. Fantastic! Alisha provided friendly service and we enjoyed our experience so much we dropped in again on our way home. It was a Friday so the special was one piece of haddock and fries.I found the serving a little on the small side and much preferred the delicious and better value breakfast special!
