Nestled in the heart of the city, this historic pub exudes charm with its traditional beams and fireplace. Offering a selection of Joules real ales, wines, and an extensive range of spirits, it invites patrons to bring their own food. While the atmosphere can vary—from lively karaoke nights to quiet afternoons with a good book—the welcoming staff consistently enhance the experience. Guests appreciate the friendly vibe and camaraderie among fellow drinkers, making it a delightful spot for those seeking a unique pub experience. However, be prepared for cash-only transactions. Overall, it remains a beloved, albeit polarizing, local establishment.

Excellent small pub serves ales from the local Tibetan brewery. is extremely busy on day of play, port vale, are the local side, away fans are also.
