Description

A family-run online purveyor of nuts, dried fruit and pantry staples offers an expansive selection, competitive prices, fast shipping and a user-friendly site with customizable gift tins. Standouts include addictive pecans, flavorful snack mixes and hard-to-find pantry ingredients—perfect for bakers, gift givers and bulk shoppers.

However, occasional stale items, uneven dried-fruit quality, spotty in-person service and the absence of on-site review submission — raising transparency concerns — temper an otherwise delightful shopping experience.

When I read Alexandra S. 's review of Nuts.com it gave me the idea for the perfect gift for my brother Jim 's 75th birthday today. I went online and chose an interesting mixture of dried fruits I thought he would enjoy and a tin of mixed chocolates that looked intriguing. I liked that you could arrange to have gifts delivered on a specific date. I chose to have it shipped on January 12, to arrive today. They shipped it a day earlier, presumably because they were aware that transportation is slower than anticipated. This afternoon I received an email from Nuts.com that the package had been delivered and a thank you email from Jim, who said he had tried some of the chocolates and that they had been very good. He 's looking forward to trying the dried fruit. In his email he said, The Nut.com company did it good! . I haven 't ordered anything for myself yet. I have an assortment of nuts in my freezer, but I look forward to going to their website to see what else strikes my fancy. Their emails are quirky and amusing. I like dealing w/ people w/ a good sense of humor and this family certainly seems full of them.

It was serendipity that I discovered this on-line company right around the holidays. I was trying to come up with gift ideas for two out of state people neither of whom I would be able to see over Christmas to hand deliver gifts. After perusing the website I decided to order each of the two a personalized tin of goodies. Nuts.com offers a build your own tin idea. You have a great assortment of nuts, dried fruits, chocolates, candies, etc from which to choose. The tins come in a few sizes and price points...you can keep things in your price range depending on how you choose to fill the tin. The inside of the tins have dividers and you fill each segment with whatever you would like from the offerings. Both gifts arrived the DAY after I submitted the online order. Amazon be damned! Both gift recipients have let me know they loved their gifts and loved the variety. I also bought a number of things for myself. I needed walnuts, pecans and pistachios so I ordered those. I also ordered dried cranberries, dates and some chocolate covered espresso beans and some M and M candies that come in single colors, traditional mixed colors and then in unusual colors like black and white. Nuts.com also sells some spices and other pantry items like various flours including gluten-free, assorted kinds of dried beans and many seed choices. They sell whole coffee beans from different countries. I was happy to see they sell poppy seeds (two different kinds) by the pound. My husband has loved poppy seed cake since he was a child and he fondly remembers the ones his aunt used to make for him. I have taken to baking him the occasional poppy seed cake or loaf and I 've discovered how difficult it can be to find poppy seeds in bulk versus those ridiculously small jars the supermarkets sell. One of the recipes I have calls for a full cup of poppy seeds so finding them on Nuts.com and getting fresh seeds (they go rancid quickly; once you get them home you should store them in the fridge or freezer if you 're not going to use them right away). In fact, everything I received in my order was fresh and nicely wrapped. The prices are reasonable. I love that this is a family-run company out of New Jersey. They are easy to get in touch with via email or the phone number they prominently display on their website. I am tired of online companies that want you to order from them but make it difficult to talk to an actual person if you have questions or need help. Some websites even make it difficult to email them directly without first having to navigate a questions often asked section. I will certainly order from Nuts.com again for myself and for gifts to go!

I've ordered gifts for my dad from nuts.com several times now. This year we ordered Father's Day gifts for my dad and my father in law. They both loved their gift sets. My dad never wants anything but pistachios. So this has been my go to. Everything usually arrives a little early, but definitely on time.

Their product selection is astounding, and the website is well-organized with a user-friendly ordering system. The bourbon pecans and candied walnuts are incredibly addictive—like a guilty pleasure! The other nuts I tried were all delightful as well, though I found the dried fruits to be average. The pitted dates were fresh, moist, and delicious, while the figs were dried out and nearly inedible until I removed the stems and rehydrated them with hot water. After doing so, I enjoyed the mission figs, but the Turkish figs had a strange taste. I wasn’t particularly fond of the apricots either; they weren’t as tart as I had hoped. Unfortunately, the raisins didn’t turn out well for me, as each one contained a crunchy seed that was unpleasant to chew. On a positive note, the bourbon street snack mix was excellent— a perfect mix of sweetness and crunch with just a touch of cayenne heat. The instant clearjel is a fantastic ingredient for thickening fruit pies, surpassing corn starch, tapioca, or flour. It’s hard to find elsewhere, and the price here is quite reasonable. The goji berry powder makes a great booster for smoothies, but you have to be cautious; just a small spoonful goes a long way. It doesn’t dissolve easily and can thicken your drink in the blender. Overall, this family-run company is a pleasure to deal with. If you call them, you’re likely to talk to one of the owners personally. Once you join their email list, they shower you with promotional offers, discounts, and freebies. I eagerly anticipate my next order from nuts.com!
