Marmitaria Cafe Buffet - Newark

When you can’t keep a food buffet warm you fail, plenty of other better options in this neighborhood.

I have been going to this place for over 10 years with my senior parents and brother never have a problem we always order the same thing a churrasco for 3. My senior parents can’t eat enough meat because of their teeth so the order for three is more than enough for 4 or 5 it includes the salad bar for 3. Couple of years ago they hired a new manager or waiter I am not sure what is his position but he is always concerned about us ordering a churrasco for 3 when we are 4 or 5 plus we order drinks and desert. Today when we received the bill they charged us for an extra buffet $16.95 when I questioned about the charge he came to tell us that we were sharing a plate of the buffet( lettuce and tomatoes) what???? and once again he mentioned that we only order a churrasco for 3 and this is not enough for us. I don’t understand why he is so concerned or who he think he is to force us to eat more food or even wasted. The food is good but they should be more concerned about the type of service they give to customers. I am never been treat this way in another place. They just loose long time customer.

I just ordered feijoada and not joke, i didn't get any meat. My feijoada was just bone and fat pieces. Do not waste 28.00 when you can cook rice and beans home. No piece of bacon, no piece of sausage, of any(absolutely any meat). That is ridiculous

The restaurant food was great but when it was time to pay, I did not realize they charged a blank with a symbol of a got of an extra 20 to the bill for no reason PLEASE BEWARE they getting extra money for what??? They already add 18 gratuity for 6 people if we want to give an extra for tip, then we will but they should not be doing this to their customers!! KEEP YOU EYE ON YOUR CHARGES AT THE END! My waiter name was Rodrigo shame on him, as he was the one to give me my receipt!
