Ras Plant Based in Brooklyn, New York offers a delicious Mercato platter. However, the portion sizes for their shiro were disappointing. I highly recommend trying mama's tofu and mushroom tibs.

Ras, an Ethiopian restaurant in New York, presents a mixed experience for diners. While it offers a cozy atmosphere and visually appealing dishes, the overall dining experience can be overshadowed by its high prices and chaotic environment. Many appreciate the food's flavor and presentation, especially newcomers exploring Ethiopian cuisine. However, critiques arise regarding accessibility and service, with calls for more diverse staff and improved customer interaction. While the venue has potential, particularly for special occasions, it may not be suitable for regular visits. Overall, Ras remains a place worth trying for those curious about Ethiopian flavors.

Purveyors of vibe! True that. What a great place. We loved the assorted platters (we had one of each) and the cocktails were on point. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Ras is definitely a vibe! The ambience is great, the staff is extremely welcoming, and the food is unbelievable. I have tried both the platters and the mock beef, and they are so delicious. My personal favorite is the squash sambusa. I would highly recommend dining here, as it is also a great spot for celebratory dinners.

I went to RAS for brunch with my girl friends. The French toast was out of this world. My Ethiopian iced coffee latte was soo yummy. Our server Eddie was so funny, knowledgeable about the menu and very hospitable. A note if you are ordering the potato hash, they aren’t super soft. If you are like me and only like soft potatoes, ask for them to be well done. Sambusas were delicious Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: Good for vegans and peanut allergies

Loved the platter options and so perfect for sharing with three of us for an early dinner before heading on to meet up with more friends. The daal and beans were really stand out, though oddly on the sweeter, more savory side. The injera chips were really interesting and the first time I’ve seen that! Definitely enjoyed.
