Reviews - Karpollo
Reviews summary
This cozy Peruvian spot serves generous, affordable comfort food — tender rotisserie chicken, standout arroz chaufa and crisp calamari — with popular combo deals ideal for families. Fried seafood platters (jalea) often impress, though shrimp portions, green sauce requests and some fried items can be inconsistent. Service is usually quick and friendly, but the small dining room can feel understaffed at busy times and there are occasional payment issues. Overall, a value-driven neighborhood restaurant for hearty Peruvian flavors.

Picked up some dinner Tuesday after work. After looking at the menu I was going to order the noodles and fried rice but then another order came out with a variety of fried seafood. It looked really good.. I asked what it was.... Jalea. So I bought that and a whole chicken. The chicken was very good and flavorful. The calamari was so good. The shrimp and yucca was also very good. The fried fish was not so good. They n... View all feedback.
What Lisa dislikes about Karpollo:
Great food. Noticed they have cut down in the amount of shrimp. Major issue is that every time I order I request 2 containers of their green sauce and consider it a great day if I get one. I am even willing to pay extra. View all feedback.

The dish was mostly lacking in sauce, and the meat was bland in flavor. The sauce itself didn't have much taste either. Additionally, the fries were soggy and unseasoned.
The grilled chicken was delicious, but the rice was undercooked. They also added the wrong drink to my order.

I ordered the personal size chaufa especial, which I easily shared with my partner. The portion was very generous, and we also got two waters. Without including a tip, the total came to around 20 dollars, which felt like a good deal. However, when it was time to pay, the young man at the register tried to overcharge me by 8 dollars. The receipt showed a total of 30 dollars in cash before I even completed my payment. I ended up leaving after paying what I thought was the correct price for the food and a reasonable tip, totaling 23 dollars. It seems like the person at the register might be trying to take advantage of customers and pocket the extra money for himself.

Rice is nicely seasoned, the chicken is so tender and has great flavor seafood cocktail could be better but overall would definitely order again since the food comes fresh and hot when it arrives.
Their arroz chaufa is excellent, and they offer a dish called the Combo, which includes a whole chicken along with fries, salad, arroz chaufa, and a 2-liter soda for a very reasonable price—less than $40. The only downside for me is their fries, but honestly, we’re not big fans of fries anyway. The seating area is small, but it’s cozy.
I really wish there was one of these restaurants near me! The food was delicious; we ordered the family parrillada and it was fantastic. The service was outstanding as well. I highly recommend it!
This cozy little restaurant specializes in Peruvian cuisine. I visited on a Sunday at 3 PM and found that there was only one server on duty. As the place started to get busy, it became clear that more staff would be beneficial. However, the food was fantastic, and I had no complaints in that regard.

Next time I will try the noodles and fried rice. Service was quick and friendly.
