**Discovering a Hidden Gem in Newark: A Culinary Delight**
Nestled in a residential area of Newark, this Ecuadorian restaurant has become a beloved local treasure, known for its lively atmosphere and delicious cuisine. Diners rave about flavorful dishes like chaulafan and expertly crafted tomate de árbol juice. Despite a past ownership change, the food quality has notably improved, with vibrant decor enhancing the dining experience. While some dishes, like the fancier Fanesca, may miss the mark, the large portions and reasonable pricing keep patrons coming back. A visit is highly recommended, but remember to bring cash to fully enjoy this hidden gem.

Here’s my review specifically for the Fanesca. I bought two portions, and my husband nearly choked on the bony fish they included. It resembled fish soup with just a few grains in it. It was awful, especially for $22 a tub. If you're in Newark, I recommend checking out Sabor Latino or Ferry Diner. If you make it to Elizabeth, go to Nuevo Latino. I do plan to return at some point to try the ceviche.
A lovely hidden gem! Don't be fooled by the exterior; the food is delicious, and the service is quick and attentive. I will definitely be returning for more!
Great food! They take great care in presenting the dishes, which I really appreciate. However, it is a bit pricey.
Amazing just amazing food. Just remember to bring cash is a cash only restaurant
