Was Amanda Luurtsema at Cornbread a mag?
A family of four spent $70-$90, including food, drinks, and dessert. This was an incredible dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful! We ordered the classics: collard greens, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, and peach pie. The chicken was marinated and then grilled before being fried, which made it exceptionally tasty. You could really tell that the peach pie was made with fresh peaches.... View all feedback.
What Amanda Luurtsema dislikes about Cornbread:
Unfortunately my first visit at Cornbread- Newark was not a good one. The staff was fine, process of ordering was fine. The downside was the food. The chicken was not cooked. It was pink in the inside, as you can see from the photos uploaded. The Mac and cheese wasn?t that great, didn?t have much seasoning or flavor at all. The potato salad was the worst of all. The cornbread and collard greens were tasty though. I w... View all feedback.

This Brooklyn foodie is now in love with Newark because of Cornbread Farm to Soul Restaurant. Let?s start with the mac and cheese. It was cooked to perfection. That cheese blend was so gooey and had a nice crust on top. Now on to the meats. The chicken and turkey wings were tender inside but had that nice crisp on the outside. The cornbread was buttery and sweet all at the same time. The sides were also seasoned well. My favorite out of the collard greens and cabbage was the

The atmosphere was very inviting! The batter on every dish, whether it was the catfish, whiting, or chicken, was excellent—light and savory, making it a perfect match for the fish. The chicken was crispy and delicious without being greasy. This is the first time I’ve had fried food that didn’t leave that heavy, regretful feeling in my stomach for the rest of the day. The collard greens were cooked just right—not overdone or mushy, and the cabbage was quite flavorful, reminiscent of the texture you get with corned beef and cabbage. The macaroni was also delightful!
The food is fresh and, like many soul food places, the sides truly shine here. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese, yams, and potato salad. The cornbread was also a highlight—delicious and served warm, perfectly balanced in texture. However, the fountain soda machine was out of order, with only one or two options available. It would have been helpful to know that before purchasing a soda. The catfish po' boy was tasty, but I felt it needed a bit more sauce for my liking.

A big thank you to Natore and Bernice! The food is fantastic, and the service is exceptional. I will definitely return the next time I'm at Prudential Center.
I highly recommend the catfish, turkey legs, macaroni and cheese, and apple cobbler! The staff is friendly, and the cornbread is fantastic!
Loved being greeted warmly upon entry from Kawana. The music set the atmosphere and was on point as well.Vegetarian options: Offering a few more soul vegetarian and plant based options would be great.
