The place is not nice enough to justify such expensive prices. Appetizers alone start from $20+. Food was not impressive. Cocktails were awful. The entrée I had made me very sick and ruined my entire weekend. Understaffed. They only had 2overwhelmed waiters working the Friday evening shift. Felt very neglected. They serve stale bread rolls which probably getpassed on from one table to another if not eaten. Just overall disappointed. Could have spent that $200+ somewhere else.
Food was fresh but some selections were bland. The Spanish sausage in garlic sauce was amazing. Octopus and lamb shops were bland but were fresh. They have their own parking which is good for the busy area. Clams in garlic were also tasty. Was priceybut worth the portions.
Food was fantastic. Of a party of 12, not one complaint on the quality of the meals. Portions are large and the menu was very diverse. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Prices were out of but worth it. Only reasons it's not a 5star were because they were having an issue with the lighting and they didn't bring out all the meals at the same time. One dishwas delayed about 10 minutes. Overall a great experience.
Surprised by the decoration very heavy and very ” cliché “ Portugal is today a modern country with good taste: here the colors are so dark and plastic grapes everywhere make the ambiance very depressing. Prices are completely exaggerated for whatthe place is. The food is lack luster, doesn’t have much taste and doesn’t justify the high price. It’s Newark, yet it’smore expensive than a lot of classy New York restaurants. The service and customer service are nonexistent. Really a badexperience, the worst I have had in a long long time. We didn’t get asked if the food was okay, if we wanted anything else, etc. Took over 15 minutes to come even ask if we wanted our check or desert or anything. Honestly disappointing and will neverbe back. Even if I was given a free dinner here I would pass.
I was there on a Saturday evening for a casual business meeting, I had made a small a request when making the reservation for a table that had some privacy and not to noisy. The hostess came through with that and the rest of the evening was perfect. The service was on point, from the Drinks to the food. The staff were very friendly and respectful and catered to all of request. The food was delicious. I couldn't imagine ever having a bad experience there. Highly recommend Adegas. I will definitely be going back.
