The Border Cafe - Newark
The Border Cafe
Description
**Dining Delight with Room for Improvement at Local Mexican Eatery**
This vibrant restaurant offers a colorful array of Mexican dishes that many diners find exceptional, with generous portions that often invite take-home boxes. While friendly service and a lively atmosphere enhance the dining experience, some patrons express dissatisfaction with limited menu options post-COVID and occasional issues, such as seating arrangements for larger parties. Overall, the establishment maintains a loyal customer base, celebrated for its delicious food and value for money, though there are calls for improvement in presentation and attention to customer needs. A solid choice for casual dining, but with room for enhancement.

This place was awesome it reminds me of Jose Tejas in NJ I don't know if there owned by the same people. Definitely will go back the place looked really busy but it was a 10 minute wait. The food was delicious the staff was excellent. The drinks wereamazing.
They make the best margaritas in Newark period ! Breezy service , amazing drinks and lively ambiance make this our go to place for any occasion! Try the guacamole here , it?s fresh and too good! The Tejas chicken are too good as well , but the best inthe food menu is the shrimp tacos !! Generous portions of shrimp with a delicious chipotle dressing have made this my favoritedish here !! For drinks , pick any Margarita and you won?t be disappointed. My recommendation thought would be anything thathas Cointreau !! Overall , Highly recommended for food and drinks !
Here very tasty Mexican dishes. It?s even tastier than in Mexico where I was on the last week. Dishes is very big. So much big that we took the part of them in boxes to home. I recommend this place! The first and second visiting this place was good butthe third upset me and my friends. I came here to celebrate my birthday with my fiancé and his family. 9 people and theyproposed to sit on different tables because they didn?t put tables together. So it was very upset for all of us because we hadseparate tables.

I give this restaurant two stars, and that's mainly because of the chicken. Otherwise, I would rate it just one star due to the side dish. The portion was very disappointing—barely half a mini bucket. Additionally, my curbside order didn't come with any utensils or paper napkins. I'm really disappointed.
