Third time here. First time for brunch. Food was great as usual. Great service. Went at 2pm for a late brunch, so it wasn't crowded at all. Waitress recognized us from when we were here 7 months ago, which I thought was a bit odd. I would talk more about the food, but it would just be a tease because the chef changes up the menu every once in a while. Just a warning that the menu on the website might not be up to dat... What Michelle Gorczany doesn't like about Virginia's:
very good food served by the most pretentious non-helpful employees in whole ny. virginias looks like a 5-star accommodation, but in a 5-star house, the staff and owner would go out of the way to deliver exceptional service, ask and their guests feel special. If virginia were in another situation, all would talk about the delicious and original eating they serve. it is a jewel of a place for casual eating, where every dish is original and where the personal is warm and friendly. Dinner and her Saturday brunch, both remarkable.
That was our third visit to virginias. the first was just a burger at the bar, probably one of the best I ever had. our second trip we had a complete dinner and it was fantastic. I had the green chicken and my husband had the Wagyu beef. both excellent. delicious flavor, quality pages. today we had brunch on Saturday; I recommend the horned cork with fried eggs. yum. the restaurant is small and charming, the staff is charming.
One of the top three burger joints in New York City.

We had out of town guests who came in just to try Virginia's off-menu burger only available to those seated at the bar. They do not take reservations for the bar, so we were going to leave as they were full up. The maître d' allowed us an exception. Our dinner was saved, and we enjoyed one of the very best burgers in NYC. Thank you.
