What Lucy K doesn't like about Ukrainian East Village Res:
This restaurant had a lovely cozy atmosphere, thanks to its windows and homey dining chairs and tables. I visited on a Sunday evening at 6 PM, and there was a wait of about 20-30 minutes to be seated. Our food took around 20 minutes to arrive, during which we enjoyed some complimentary bread. Delicious and nutritious! You taste the love in this homey and hearty food. It’s off the beaten path, which gives the restaurant the full experience. You’d expect that people have been coming here for generations.. very authentic. Take the unmarked back door into Sly Fox afterward for some great vibes and reasonably priced drinks. Support Ukraine!!!
What a lovely place! Amazing food, true Ukrainian cuisine, and such a nice people working there. Here you’ll be welcomed like at smbs home with all warmth and care.

The food is delicious here, and the ambiance is pretty great it gives you the feel that you're in Babushak's basement, about to be served a really hearty meal rich in potatoes and sausages. I loved how the event room smelled like decades of pierogies and good times. Something about this place just warmed my heart. Try the sampler plates for a little bit of everything wonderful. I also highly recommend the blitzes!
Yes yes yes!!! Lovely service, great food, Ok prices . We tried the East village Combo and the Hungarian goulash. Delicious. I can’t wait to try other options on their menu! The place is quite traditional and less touristy than the next door restaurant. I recommend it for an easy night, or when you have a craving for traditional food
