I love this spot! The food here is as authentic Mexican food as you can find in the neighborhood. A lot of the competitors surrounding Hell's Kitchen tend to be more Americanized, however, Tulcingo Del Valle has proven to stay true to their roots. Ihighly recommend you try their tacos, because they are loaded, and order a cocktail from their impressive/creative drink menu! View all feedback.
What Jasna Acharya doesn't like about Tulcingo Del Valle:
The food needed more seasoning. The fajitas were lacking flavor and the meat was not the best quality. The rice, beans and guac needed more salt and spices. Saying that, we really enjoyed their cocktails. They were creative and delicious. We also liked that their tortillas were homemade. View all feedback.
I was really impressed with everything I tried. The guacamole and salsa appetizer was fresh and had just the right amount of kick to it. I ordered the ribs in green salsa, and they were absolutely delicious—so tender and perfectly spiced. And, of course, the rice and beans were cooked just right. As for cleanliness, everything was well-maintained and spotless, just as it should be.
The lovely family that operates this restaurant truly pours their heart and soul into it. During the pandemic, while many establishments struggled to survive, they doubled down on their efforts and even thrived. For example, the owner took on delivery duties himself when necessary. Their food is fresh, flavorful, visually appealing, and as authentic as you can find in NYC. They offer some specialties that are hard to come by elsewhere.

It?s hard to mess up queso or a burrito but this place surely did. If I could give it zero stars I would. The ?queso? was a pile of hard cheese covered in grease and the burrito was all fatty meat. We asked for two water cups and they said they don?t dothat? Overall a horrible experience that left me feeling sick. Extremely expensive as well? just the two thijgs cost $33
"Fantastic Mexican cuisine! The guacamole, salsa, and margaritas are incredibly authentic and made fresh to order. The quesadillas, enchiladas, and tortilla chips are just as delightful. Not only did they survive the challenges of COVID, but they've come back even better. In my opinion, this is the best Mexican restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. A tip: the salsa is quite spicy, so if you're unsure, be sure to ask for the mild version!"
