Would highly recommend The Up Up as a nice, sophisticated speakeasy! It's dimly lit and feels intimate and cozy- definitely a good date spot. There is a wide selection of creative drinks. I tried Bring June Flowers (reyka vodka, suze, jasmine tea, cucumber, and lemon juice). It was refreshing, quite cucumber-heavy but in a good way. Lots of ice though. Service was attentive and very knowledgeable on the drinks. Defin... View all feedback.

Good, strong cocktails, but i didn't really like how waiter was pushing me drink more after two of my cocktails. He asked order any cocktail even non alcoholic. Than they said we limit of time to sit in table i wasnt mind sit in bar as well but in 3 min they change mind and said we can sit longer in table. Its was my first time there and i Dont think i will be back . View all feedback.
Finally checked this place off of my list! the bar is dimly lit, intimate, and ornate, perfect for dates of small gatherings. we were promptly seated for a 5pm reservation on a saturday afternoon. the menu had a huge selection and we were kinda overwhelmed to be honest. our server was really helpful and knowledgeable. we got the following to try: -Barricaded Mountaintop: a Negroni-like drink with a bergamot twist. loved it! -Happy Trails: a Whiskey Sour-like drink with apricot, yuzu, pineapple, and fennel. it was delicious! -Stay Gold: with bourbon, ginger, lime. it gave me the impression of a Kentucky Mule, sans mint. it was very gingery, which i like, but my friend is not a huge fan of. -Screen Door Slam: an Old-Fashioned like drink, but with addition of Aperol and Absinthe. i think all the drinks were quite inventive and had a nice range. service was great too. i think my only grip is how pricey it is. drinks are $19 a pop. as someone who loves cocktails and making cocktails at home, i'm not too impressed by the liquors that they used. they're not the most unique or interesting (Maker's Mark Bourbon, Reyka Vodka, Suntory Toki [tho i do love Suntory Toki, etc. . overall, still a good time and will return.

Bar hopping with friends on a weekday night. A few steps down you’ll see the door. As we didn’t have a reservation the staff let us waiting inside (a waiting room next to the entrance) for table to be ready along with a glass of water and menu to look for which is a really kind and welcoming gesture. Staffs are friendly. The inner decor especially the wallpaper is delicate and classic. Dark mode. Cozy vibe with the good use of light and shade to draw the virtual line between tables/ groups of people. The menu marked the glassware key ie, rocks or highball to easily have a better view of your type of drink. However the drinks didn’t meet our expectation, the taste are on the common side or too much ice with little alcohol according to one of my friend. Six seed (grapefruit).

The Up Up is kind of like a speakeasy. You have to go down the stairs and ring the bell and they let you know if they have room to seat you. Three friends and I came by on the Friday before July 4th weekend at around 7:30, without a reservation. We rang the bell and the guy went to check for availability and shortly came back to let us in. I thought the place would be packed but it was half empty so not sure why he needed to check. Maybe to make it seem more exclusive? The inside is dark but not too dark. It would be a nice spot for a date. Cocktails are expertly made but pricey. They are $19 a pop. My friend ordered a mocktail and was also charged $19! I had the 'One-Star Yelp Review ' (as a Yelper should lol), which is Reyka Vodka, Amaro Montenegro, Cachaça, Grapefruit Juice, Lemon Juice, and Demerara. It was very refreshing for such a hot day. The Up Up is a nice place if you want to stop by for a quick drink but definitely not where you want to spend the entire night or else you 'll likely run up quite a tab. But overall, pretty cool experience.
