A hidden gem located near the Chelsea Market area! Opening at 5 PM, this underground bar sets the perfect vibe for the weekend. The drinks are fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive! View all feedback.
What Neha Sadruddin doesn't like about The Tippler:
I would give this place zero stars. The bouncers were incredibly racist and refused to let us in because they claimed we were “intoxicated,” while they casually allowed a group of attractive white women to enter without issue. I had been warned about this by a friend before I went, so I was disappointed to have the same experience. It's disheartening to see such behavior in some of the trendiest neighborhoods of New... We were looking for a place to have a few pre-dinner drinks in the Meat Packing area, New York. This place was below street level with a great atmosphere, good music, service and drinks.
Absolutely horrendous. In 13 years of living in NYC, this bar earns the award of being the absolute worse bar I've ever visited in NYC. First of all, drinks are disgusting. And by that I mean undrinkable. A martini that tastes like garbage vodka with water and salt. Second, The Tippler features some of the rudest employees and customer service. Especially the bouncer/security. Simply put, they treat you like s**t. Absolutely unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and don't come visit this place.
Had a an amazing time catching up with my friend at The Tippler. Went on a Wednesday night and had a fantastic service with Flavio, he was personable, knew his drinks really well and was very nice. Will absolutely make this a frequent visit in the future!
Walking in this place is cool, your going down some stairs feeling a little lost, following arrows, drunk statue then boom! Your in the bar area a pretty large place with plenty of seating. It’s has the brick and wood dim lit old school but modern vibe. There is a fun drink menu and they even have mock tails. I’m doing dry January and got the not a Negroni. It tasted like one minus the Booz! We had a blast
Bouncer had a terrible attitude and was unnecessarily rude to the group I was with. I would've expected more from this establishment
