The Mermaid Inn - New York

Always a good place for happy hour oysters and drinks. Indoor seats are always prepandemic packed. Service is good, although they are busy with indoor and outdoor seats. Waiting staff is super nice. even get free dessert before we go to another place for dinner. will definitely return when in the area.

A perfect service and food was great! Happy Hour menu was pretty good, we tried the mini-fish tacos, mini-Clam Chowder and Calamari. Would definitely recommend the fish tacos and mussels. Calamari was all right not to scream. We also got the brussel sprouts that perfectly seasoned, not too sweet. Only a small chip of lobster found in our lobster Mac cheese. That said it tastes pretty good, not too cheesy or heavy. Supplementary mini chocolate pudding to finish the meal. Overall, really good ambience and value. Very recommended to book. If there are no available spots online, you could still try to get a table because the place is quite huge.

Dear Mermaid Inn Thank you for all great years at the UWS. We'll miss you. Find a new location here and come back soon. Until then, we will be for your fish Tacos, Seared Tuna and many others when you are dishes.

We went through our apartment tonight for a quick dinner on the street, and the Mermaid Inn provided an amazing experience for us! The atmosphere was great with beautiful music. They were busy, but not loud. The candles on the table created a warm and calm feeling. The oysters and the shells were great! My husband loved the salmon and Hush puppies. He said the salmon duck was incredibly delicious with the salmon that rests on a bed of vegetables: sweet potatoes, mushrooms, greens, and so on. The service was great! We will try again, more dishes!

Great service, despite the AC not working. Everything was delicious. Oysters, ceviche, salmon entrée, hush puppies, all great. Nice plating. Cool decor/vibe. A bit understaffed but didn't affect our table service.
