Contribute FeedbackDespite its advertisements, this restaurant falls short of expectations. The strange menu choices and overpriced wine list make dining here a pass. The food is lackluster and cold, with small portions. While the decor is nice and the staff friendly, the food quality is inconsistent. However, the cocktails are high-quality, making it convenient for pre or post-theater drinks. The calm, elegant atmosphere provides a perfect setting for conversation. The restaurant offers a $45 restaurant week deal with nearly flawless execution, aside from a overly spicy soup. Overall, The Library is a peaceful spot with potential room for improvement.
Good food and they have gluten free options but a bit limited. Enjoyed the beet salad with raspberries and the burrata. The soup with crab was decent. The froyo was good but not necessarily worth $8!
Taste and Convenience. The Library restaurant at Public Theater couldn't be more convenient, located in the building and sensitive to its patrons' curtain times. The service is attentive, reservations are simple, the food is tasty and well prepared, and the member discount is welcome. My theater companion and I dine there often before a show, so we've tried most of the menu. <br/ <br/ Last night, we noticed a few, welcome new additions. I had a sumptuous arugula and pear salad and the pulled pork sandwich. My friend had the new pasta with cauliflower entree. I passed on wine too pricey but the meal was delicious. A few more moderately priced wine selections would make the experience even better.
I was very excited about this place. Very cool vibe. Sadly, the service was very, very slow and the vegetarian options were incredibly tasteless and bland. Dropped $85 and left hungry and dissatisfied. Super disappointed! Definitely wouldn't return.
Not bad for Members of the Public, who get a 20% discount. Otherwise, it is expensive. Roast Chicken dish was steaming hot tasty. The Tagliatelle was lukewarm but flavorful. It took a long time to place the order and receive our meals. Pre-theater the place is packed. Make a reservation!
Excellent establishment. Not inexpensive (eg, $18 cocktails) but very high quality drinks, food and service. Moroccan chicken was excellent. And obviously super convenient to see a show.
