One of the little splurgens on our trip and definitiw a great date night for our jubilee in nyc. it is lovely and not romantic in itself, but the service is friendly and informatiw and the $98 per person omakase was the price in our opinion well worth. someone had birthday and they turned the lights off for a moment and played some silly rap songs with birthday texts for a few seconds. the server could also recommend some that we enjoyed. we had a reservation for a table, but it looks like they also accepted walk-ins.
This was a great affordable omokase experience. they have an upgrade set for a bit more, but I say it's worth it! the personal was very nice and courteous, felt really like the full omokase Japanese experience. came with my friend and we were both pleasantly surprised by everything! a must for every sushi lover looking for an authentic and high quality sushi.
This is my second time in a week. Note whether they are not a sushi lover or raw seafood, this is not the place for them. but they get what they paid for. the quality of food is good. there's nothing you can go with after my opinion. but intently, when I was sitting at the cook, they only have one hour to sit there. they rushed out so I didn't like it since I spent over 700 ish dollar and there were 3 people. I strongly recommend getting a table instead of the cook. the 12 piece or 18 piece omakase is great. If you're really hungry, maybe that's not enough for you. the portions on the rolls are on the Peti size.
I'd give such a low mark as per the below reasons:1. The sushi chef didn't wear masks where were sitting at the counter awaiting our Omakase to be served. I reckon it'd be the basic hygiene requirement to meet for the chef.2. I was rather shocked by the sushi with LAOGANMA (chilli sauce). I didn't expect this at all. I don't think a traditional Japanese restaurant would serve such a dish. It tastes so weird and funny .3. The most annoying part is the service. The staff brought us our bill when we just finished our dish. We didn't ask for it but it seemed like they would like to pay the bill asap. We have never been treated like that at other Japanese restaurants.4. I know this is not run by a Japanese Chef but since the selling point is all about Japanese cuisine, how about show some respects to the real culture? quite disappointed as a real sushi/Japanese cuisine lover
Absolutely loved everything. All I can say is it's an explosive flavor experience. Each piece bringing you a new experience. Definitely go for the $95 option and try one of their specials. How will I ever go back to normal sushi again??
