Contribute FeedbackSocarrat Paella Bar has been a culinary haven since its inception in 2008, offering vibrant tapas and delightful sangrias that transport diners straight to Spain. While the tapas, such as croquetas and grilled squid, continue to impress, the once-renowned paellas have drawn mixed feedback. Diners have noted diminished quality and portion sizes, particularly the iconic crispy socarrat, which appears to be missing from recent dishes. Despite some complaints, the enchanting ambiance and exceptional service shine through, making it a worthy destination for those seeking authentic Spanish cuisine—especially for tapas enthusiasts. Just be mindful of the price tag.
Eating is not good- didn't feel fresh and the seafood paella smells. I would also not recommend for restaurant week. definitiw no good paella.
Iâve been eating at Socarrat since it opened in 2008 and this last experience was disappointing. I invited some friends to join us for my boyfriends birthday dinner and was very excited for them to experience one of my favorite restaurants. The tapas was delicious. Staff was wonderful and sangria was amazing. But the paella has lost a lot of quality. The namesake Socarrat was not present and the two paellas were delivered cold. Sure there were lots of shellfish and protein but no crispy rice on the bottom. The servers use to come by and scrape the pan for you but they donât even try anymore. They know itâs not there. I also understand the price of things have gone up but I find the portions have gotten smaller and for 5 of us was almost 600$ for dinner. The value and quality is no longer there. Go for tapas, skip the paella.
We came for restaurant week, but will return definitiw. the location, eating, service and atmosphere are all the reasons we want to come back.
I wanted to celebrate a friend's birthday. we had the restaurant-week dinner we all enjoyed. the service was great. they even sent us complementary after eating to celebrate the birthday of my friend.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for tapas.
