Contribute FeedbackThe Rainbow Room, a historic gem in New York City, is known for its stunning views and vibrant atmosphere. While the charm of dining and dancing captivates many, experiences vary. Diners rave about unforgettable dishes like lobster risotto and the delightful live music, but some express disappointment over service lapses and food inconsistencies. Once a glamorous venue under David Rockefeller, criticisms highlight its current drab ambiance under new ownership. Despite the mixed reviews, it remains a unique destination for special occasions, with memorable proposals and events framed by breathtaking cityscapes. Overall, a visit may be worth it for the experience alone.
This is my second visit to this restaurant, and I am just as pleased with the experience. It is a quintessential New York City dining experience. You must go!
Could not have dreamed a more perfect night out for our anniversary.
In general, the dinner dancing event felt like a pricey tourist trap. The atmosphere was definitely lovely, with a fantastic live band and dancing. The appetizers and dessert were delicious. However, the service was terrible. The waiter continuously mixed up orders, even with a pre-fix menu. When asked for sparkling water, flat water was brought instead after a long wait. Despite requesting a vegetarian option for the first course, chicken was delivered instead of a salad. The lobster cavatelli in the second course was overcooked, but the lobster itself was satisfactory. When two fish dishes were requested for the main course, two beef dishes were mistakenly brought out, resulting in another wait for the correct dishes. Overall, better food and service can be found for a lower price elsewhere. Despite the charm of dining and dancing at the Rainbow Room, it seems the main draw of the experience is simply being able to say you've been there.
Everything about the Rainbow Room is amazing. It is the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been too The views are the best in NYC and the orchestra is fabulous.
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, although it's pricey I'd recommend anyone do it at least once for a special occasion, it's a great experience you both won't forget.
